Today I’m sharing a project I created for this week’s Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. I was drawn to the black silhouette image over a text background in the Halloween table runner. I immediately thought of my Paper Source Birds on a Branch rubber stamp and my Papertrey Ink Text Style clear stamps. I grabbed these stamps (and my trusty Papertrey Halloween set) and got to work!
The birds stamp usually gets the most ink during the spring, so it was fun to bring it out for a fall-themed project. Halloween treat bags are everywhere (side note: I’ll be sharing some packaging ideas soon!), but I thought it would be fun to make something a little bit different than the typical candy wraps. This decorated wine bottle would make a festive hostess gift for a Halloween party.
My SU! classic black ink pad is badly in need of a refill, but luckily for this project, I can fake that the fading of the text background was intended to be part of the design! I stamped the birds in Colorbox black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear powder. I’m kind of obsessed with heat embossing lately. I just love the lacquer finish it adds to an otherwise simple stamped image.
Thanks for taking a peek at my project for this challenge. Now I’m off to explore the Splitcoast gallery to see what everyone else has created!
