Today I’m excited to share a project that appears in the digital pages of the September 2014 issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine. (Can we forget for a moment that September is only three weeks away—seriously?! Where did the summer go?)
It had been awhile since I submitted to the magazine, so I’m delighted to be featured again. Especially for their super fun and on-trend foxes feature.
To get some foxy inspiration, I started with a search of the Silhouette online store. When I came across Amy Robison’s cupcake wrapper, I knew I had to make it! So I cut and assembled it with my Silhouette Cameo to make this:
I added a banner to jazz up this cupcake. To make it, just trim a ribbon (choose a thicker-thread style, like grosgrain) double the size you want it to finish as, wrap it around a striped party straw, and stick a heavy-duty glue dot or other permanent adhesive between the two ribbon layers. Add a sentiment sticker and you have a quick and festive gift all ready to be delivered to a special birthday boy or girl. You could also easily mass-produce these wrappers for a woodland-themed birthday party. (Amy’s collection includes many more woodland accessories to match.)
Not every project submitted to Paper Crafts gets picked up for publication. I had submitted this fox journal, too. I decorated a polka dot journal from the Target Dollar Spot with a gold embossed fox, some washi tape, and an adventure sticker and tiny flower.
Can’t get enough of foxes? There are many more fox ideas for crafters in the current issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine, along with other (non-fox) tips and techniques. You can purchase the digital issue here for only $3. There are also free fox downloads available.
If you’ve made something with a fox, I’d love to see it! Feel free to leave a comment on this post or tag me on Instagram @stephaniekensycrafts.
